Team-Building Structure

Our Corporate Team Building events focus on Communication, Problem Solving and Team Competition. We can arrange a tightly structured event with serious team-building race, or a more relaxed event that allows people to simply enjoy the scenery. On all trips everyone gets an opportunity to sail the boat. Both Captain Pierre and Instructor Nicholas are experienced sailing instructors and we can teach anyone to sail.

We Train Your Team to Sail as a Crew

We will train each team member how to manage each different position on the boat – trimming sails, steering, calling tactics. Then we will change positions. This builds good communication skills.

Problem Solving

We Utilize Drills

As the team develops skills, we begin to use drills such as Man-overboard (MOB). While under sail, the team must retrieve a float dropped into the water. Effective communication and problem solving are required.

Team Competition

Once the crew has learned some skills, then we go looking for other boats to race. For events of two boats or more, the final task is a race around a distant buoy. Our HR 25 are sailing fast and we often catch and pass many other boats.

Sail Buffalo

The Sail Buffalo project entails the transformation of an abandoned inlet into a Community Boating Center that provides public access to Buffalo’s waterfront. We are an accredited sailing school with a mission to create an exciting safe and secure facility on Buffalo’s Outer Harbor, enabling public access to the waterfront through boating, wellness and environmental programming. Our goal is to provide a destination for on-the-water training, holistic learning experiences, wellness and environmental education regardless of income, gender and age, including people with disabilities, and to provide a safe-haven for young veterans and their families.

Our History

Being on the water is a truly transformative experience. After the launch of our unique Eco Floating Classroom 2011, and after merging with Cazenovia Community Resource Center (501-C-3) during 2012, we have finally found an ideal location at 2 Fuhrmann Blvd by the USCG, and created a true Community Boating Center!
